On October 30, Jorge Follana Berná succesfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "Synthesis of phthalocyanine-based systems as models and artificial photosynthetic analogs and as active components in solar cells". Awarded with the “Cum Laude” qualification, this PhD thesis was developed within the Bioengineering Doctoral Program under the direction of Prof. Ángela Sastre Santos. 20/11/2018 | Nathalie Zink, second prize for the best thesis in Organic Chemistry in Alicante (2017)

Dr. Nathalie Zink Lorre received the second prize for the best Doctoral Thesis in Chemistry (2017). Her thesis entitled "Perylenediimides: reactivity and applications as sensors of explosives and in laser devices" has been carried out under the direction of Prof. Fernando Fernández Lázaro and Prof. Enrique Font Sanchis and focuses on new methodologies of synthesis of perylenediimides, as well as its application in laser devices and explosive sensors. http://www.rseqalicante.es/2018/11/acto-de-entrega-xxvi-premio-san-alberto-magno/

28/09/2017 | David Gutiérrez Moreno succesfully defended his PhD thesis

On November 22, David Gutiérrez Moreno succesfully defended his PhD thesis on "Perylenediimides: Direct Functionalization of Bay Positions with Nitrogenated Compounds". It concludes as an evolution in the synthetic methodology for the preparation of new highly fluorescent compounds with nanotechnological properties and applications in biotechnology, for example in the preparation of compounds with applications in flexible solar cells, lasers, fluorescent biomarkers, among others. Awarded with the “Cum Laude” qualification, this PhD thesis was developed within the Bioengineering Doctoral Program under the direction of Prof. Fernando Fernández Lázaro.
