Professor Tomás Torres will be celebrating the 65^th anniversary of his birth next year and in honor of his outstanding scientific contributions we have organized an international symposium to recognize his achievements together with his investment as Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche. The half-day symposium, Phthalocyanines and Close Friends, will take place January 27th, 2016, at the “Centro de Congresos Ciutat d’Elx”, Elche (Alicante - Spain), and will be followed next day by the investment act at the Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche.

The symposium will offer an opportunity for researchers to discuss topics pertaining to the past and future of phthalocyanines and related compounds, as well as provide an opportunity to celebrate the contribution of a true pioneer in the field.
